Ohio Web Leaders invited me to speak at this month’s event. About 60 people gathered this morning at Columbus State Community College, thanks to Mike Bowers and the Small Business Development Center for hosting. With me today were Nick Seguin and others.  Nick is a progressive web-minded strategist for dynamIt.

We defined the term social media, then asked the crowd to perform a small break-out exercise, listing out the fears and myths they believe make businesses hesitate to use social media today.  In spite of it being super early in the morning, everyone did a great job interacting in their groups and came up with an excellent list.  I’ll post the complete list later.  We also asked folks what they were curious about and wanted to learn about in social media, and got some great feedback there as well.

What follows is the presentation I gave. Feel free to download and share.
